Next Level Gardening for Pollinators: Nesting Habitat and Specialist Bees

This presentation will cover gardening and habitat restoration tips to support nesting habitat for wild bees in your garden and strategies for attracting specialist bees to your yard. Much of our efforts focus on planting wildflowers for bees, but less attention is on how also to support the availability of nesting sites and if flowering gardens support their nesting habitats. Additionally, many wild bees are specialists, meaning that they only visit certain plant species and are often in particular need of conservation. I will cover a few specialist bees in Minnesota and the potential to attract them to your gardens.
