Plant Selection: Right Plant, Right Place, Right Purpose!

Proper plant selection is critical to sustainable landscapes and the overall success of a design. University of Minnesota Extension horticulturist, Julie Weisenhorn, teaches proper plant selection starting with understanding the site itself – its soil, light, moisture, exposure, size, etc. – and the importance of choosing plants with that will thrive in your site. The result? A long-lived, healthy and a sustainable landscape. Attendees will also be introduced to the new Plant Elements of Design plant selection database - a great tool for selecting plants for Minnesota gardens! If possible, please bring: a wifi-ready device, such as a laptop or tablet. Smartphones will also work, but not preferred!
